The type of GU base belongs to the pin type. Bulbs with GU10 base are essentially analogs of GU5.3, but with more reliable contacts that are more firmly fixed in the cartridge. The products of this truEnergy series have extensions at the ends of the input contacts. This is the main structural difference between the GU10 base and other pin models. It is quite simple to deal with the marking of the bulb: the letters GU mean the pin type of the base, and the numbers indicate the distance between the pins. In this model, this distance is 10 mm.
The main function of the construction with an extension at the ends is a reliable fixation of the bulb in the lamp holder. In addition, the truEnergy GU10 light bulb is very easy to install into the lamp: it must be inserted into the cartridge and rotated slightly. Thanks to this fixation, the contact will not disappear during the entire operation.
Also, a radiator of an impressive area is provided in the design of truEnergy bulbs and this ensures good and long-lasting lamp operation even at high power. Our LED bulbs with GU10 base are equipped with a special reflector, which generates directional light. That is why such bulbs are most often used:
- in overhead ceiling and wall lamps for zoning the room or highlighting decorative elements
- in pendant bulbs with GU10 cartridge, which are often used in cafes and bars for local lighting
- in recessed ceiling lamps: when organizing full-fledged lighting or illumination of niches, arches, etc.
- in directional lamps for lighting groups of goods, racks and storefronts in stores and other points of sale
Advantages of the GU10 lamp from truEnergy
Bulbs with GU10 base are mainly LED, but you can also find halogen analogues. One of the important advantages of the LED option is the low temperature during operation up to 50-60 0C. This is important for stretch and plastic ceilings and lighting, for example, in cabinets or niches.
The GU10 base provides additional electrical safety. Such bulbs are used only in networks with a voltage of 220V and it is simply impossible to insert a bulb into the cartridge of a low-voltage lamp. Household safety is ensured by a shock-resistant housing, which is quite resistant to external mechanical influences. And even with deliberate damage, the truEnergy GU10 bulb will not leave sharp fragments.
